Age/Appearance: Roxanne has a round, pretty face and bright blue eyes. Definitely the kind of face you'd want on your TV giving you your news. She keeps her hair in a short pixie cut that's usually styled neat and sleek. Roxanne may be of average height but her curves are definitely not average. Well, her breasts are pretty average but her hips are pretty legendary. This baby's got back. For the most part, she looks her age, she's in her early thirties or so. Her fashion style tends to lean towards classy and professional, even when she isn't on the job. Roxanne is still a famous person around town, she wouldn't want to ruin the image she usually projected. A life of constantly being kidnapped without warning has kept her alert. She wouldn't want the entire city to see her wearing something exceedingly frumpy. Though when she knows she's just going to be laying around her home (not often) she slips into more casual tank tops and jeans that might even have a few stains. She also has a love for fuzzy slippers.

History:Roxanne's Wikia page

Like Megamind, Roxanne Ritchi had a fairly standard childhood. Okay, maybe not standard like Megamind. How about just plain old normal. She wasn't an alien from the Glaupunk quadrant escaping certain death via a black hole. She had loving parents with good jobs. They never really had any financial difficulties. Her only sibling a younger brother. He was occasionally annoying but hey, that's what siblings were for.

In school, Roxanne had always been one of the smart ones. Definitely not one of the nerds by any means but she got good grades and had lots of friends. She was reasonably popular. Her extracurriculars included playing volleyball, student council, forensics and, of course, the school newspaper. After taking a journalism class, Roxanne discovered she was good at it, for one. And two? She loved doing it so she promptly joined the newspaper and wrote as many stories for it as she possibly could. She quickly rose up the ranks and it wasn't long before she was the show-runner when it came to that paper.

When it came time for college, she didn't stray too far from her parent's home in Metro City. Even with the constant chaotic battles between Megamind and Metro Man, it was home. Of course, she majored in journalism. In her college years, Roxanne went through a short wild phase. Partying it up all the time and dating bad boys. She soon realized that it just wasn't for her, especially considering the career she wanted to pursue. She didn't want anyone digging up too much nasty dirt on her that would hurt her chances of being successful.

Once she graduated, Roxanne quickly got a job at Metro City's channel 12 news station. It wasn't long before she was out in the field and reporting on all the important stories. This, however, caught Megamind's attention. So he kidnapped her and used her as bait for Metro Man in one of his schemes. He saved her, of course, and everything went back to normal. Until next week. When Megamind kidnapped her again. He obviously had developed some sort of fixation on her. The first time it happened, she had been terrified, second, a little. But by the fourth time, she was just aggravated. She got fired from channel 12 for being too much of a liability to the station. Never mind the fact of the insane ratings she brought whenever she was on air. Especially when she was being kidnapped. Luckily, channel 8 quickly offered her a job and snatched her right up. Roxanne was happy to accept and get back to doing what she loved. And so the pattern continued. Get kidnapped. Sarcastic banter with the kidnapper. Get rescued.

Needless to say, Roxanne wasn't afraid of getting kidnapped by Megamind anymore. She even took it upon herself to assault him with sarcasm whenever the opportunity presented itself. He was a terribly predictable, terrible villain, after all. And she was a little miffed he had discontinued that frequent kidnapping program. She did occasionally enjoy the perks to that. Speculation abounded that she was dating Metro Man. She wasn't, he just wasn't her type but Roxanne let the media believe it. She let Megamind believe it. With her career in the spotlight, it was just easier to pretend or not answer questions.

Everything changed the day Metro City was to open a museum in honor of Metro Man, however. Megamind broke out of jail. He kidnapped Roxanne as a part of his latest scheme to get rid of Metro Man. Snarky banter ensued. Business as usual, basically. Until…Megamind's plan actually managed to work. Metro Man was dead and Megamind was free to take over the city and do whatever he pleased. Which he did, of course.

Having everything left Megamind feeling empty inside, though. The Metro Man museum filled him with dread because of all the painful reminders of what used to be. So he planned to blow it up. Coincidence would have it that Roxanne was doing a story not far from the museum. After she had wrapped and her cameraman, Hal, drove off, Roxanne went in to the museum. Like Megamind, she had a nice heart to heart discussion with the enormous statue of Metro Man. Which meant, inevitably, that Roxanne and Megamind were going to run into each other. When he realized she was there, Megamind quickly rushed to get away, trying to avoid her. He ran into the museum curator, Bernard. He scanned the guy with his disguising watch and then dehydrated him with his appropriately named dehydration ray. After making himself look like Bernard, Megamind then encountered Roxanne. Not really wanting her to get caught up in the impending explosion, he quickly led her back down to the ground floor. On the way, the two had a conversation about Metro Man and how Roxanne had been expecting him to do one of his last second escapes. The two ended up inspiring each other. Roxanne was inspired to find a way to stand up to Megamind and the big headed buffoon was inspired to…create a new hero to kick his butt. It seemed brilliant at the time!

Megamind went to work to devise a way to infuse someone with Metro Man's god-like powers. Roxanne went on a search for Megamind's secret lair. Using her nosy reporter skills, she quickly found it. And the secret entrance. She called Bernard to tell him all about her findings. Megamind answered Bernard's phone and was thoroughly shocked that she had managed to find him. To protect his identity, he quickly disguised himself as Bernard to help Roxanne investigate his own hideout and hopefully steer her away from what he was actually up to. He nearly slipped up a few times but ultimately, things went well.

Of course, by well I mean things went horribly wrong. Roxanne picked up a gun to threaten the undisguised Megamind to let Bernard go. That gun happened to be filled with the serum that would give whoever was injected with the contents all the powers of Metro Man. Megamind grabbed the gun, trying to get it away from her. They tugged at it for a few seconds before the trigger was accidentally pulled. The contents bounced around Megamind's lair until they finally made their way outside and up the nose of Roxanne's cameraman, Hal. He had followed her to Megamind's lair on account of his slight obsession with her.

Bernard and Roxanne made it out of Megamind's lair and then one heck of an awkward encounter ensued with the three of them. Roxanne was elated that Bernard had stood up to Megamind with her. She had never seen anyone aside from Metro Man do that. She gave him a hug in front of Hal and happily declared him to be her new partner in the cause to take down Megamind before she took Hal home to nurse his hurting nose.

Soon after, Megamind and his sidekick, Minion, found Hal's apartment and prepared for him to be infused with superpowers. Using yet another disguise, Megamind posed as Hal's Space Dad to teach Hal how to be a hero. Hero lessons continued for a few months. As did Roxanne's meetings with Bernard. Meetings which eventually turned into dates. He was funny in an awkward way and Roxanne just adored spending time with him. He was a good man.

At least, that's what she thought until she found out about who he really was.

The night she discovered Bernard was Megamind was a hard one to swallow. It started out pretty well; she made a breakthrough. Roxanne figured out that Megamind's plans involved something named Titan. Then Titan showed up on her balcony. Titan was none other than Hal, who had completed his hero training and was now attempting to woo his dream girl again. Long story short, it didn't work. After he abandoned her, Roxanne headed off to her date with Bernard. She was very late and her hair was an utter mess but. She didn't really care too much about that. She shared the exciting development of the evening with him but it was quickly agreed that they should focus on trying to enjoy a normal night together. Roxanne had been entirely alright with that. But then they kissed and everything fell apart. When leaning into him, Roxanne accidentally bumped the device on his wrist that kept the disguise up. The other restaurant patrons quickly noticed that she was kissing none other than Megamind himself. When Roxanne realized what was going on, she quickly pushed him away and left. In the rain. Megamind chased after her but she would have none of it, even though his feelings for her had been completely genuine. She was upset that he had tricked her in that manner but as she walked away, she did look back, heartbroken that she had lost the first real relationship she'd had in years.

Personality: The world Roxanne lives in isn't much different than our own. Except for the slightly cheesy heroes and villains running amuck. Some of them aliens from different galaxies. In Metro City, where Roxanne lives, that's the case. Megamind, a particular alien with a giant head and a baby blue complexion was the villain. Metro Man, another alien that could pass for human except for his God-like powers. Their battles were incredibly elaborate and Roxanne was usually the bargaining chip between them. Despite this role in their shenanigans, Roxanne is pretty...normal. No powers, no super special abilities. She's basically average. It'd be easy for her to adjust to our world and just keep on reporting. In fact, she'd probably enjoy the break from the mayhem. What sets her apart, however, is her kinda spunky personality.

Roxanne may have a frequently kidnapped card but that doesn't mean she particularly accepts that. She's managed to foil Megamind's fiendish schemes on her own a couple of times. She's been kidnapped so many times that Megamind's threats just don't phase her anymore. He's usually met with intense sarcasm whenever he tries. What started as something of a coping mechanism in her early days of playing "damsel in distress" quickly became a way of passing the time until Metro Man came to rescue her. It didn't take long for her to realize that Megamind was never going to actually hurt her and so she frequently exploited that to possibly frustrate him and even get information that could help her get out on her own. Besides that, though, Roxanne always found his over-the-top antics to be amusing when she managed to point out his logical flaws.

Her sense of humor has always leaned towards been snarky and even a little bit facetious. Roxanne is relatively serious, especially about her job and making sure she always gets the facts. In the last decade, she's been so focused on her job and keeping up her public persona as Megamind's favorite hostage that she has definitely neglected the fact that she should probably try harder to relax and have more fun. She rarely leaves herself time for hobbies anymore but she does enjoy reading books of all kinds. Fiction, non-fiction, there's things she likes about both. She also plays tennis with some of the girls from work every other weekend. In her college days, Roxanne sewed quite a bit, getting a sense of accomplishment out of making a lot of her own clothes. She wishes she had the time to pick that up again.

She truly believes that journalism is her calling and she spends a majority of her time making sure she has all the facts for whatever story she may be working on at the time. She has an eye for detail and very rarely makes mistakes. She loves her job and wouldn't trade it for anything else. Roxanne loves presenting the news to people and would love to be a lead anchor at the station someday. If only she weren't always getting into trouble via heroes and villains.

Roxanne is an incredibly determined person. Not exactly stubborn as she is willing to be fair and compromise. She will always stand up for what she believes in. When she sets her mind to something, she will try her very hardest to suceed. She isn't afraid of asking for help if she needs it, though. She is very resourceful and quick thinking, a trait that has served her well in the many years she has served as a hostage. When infiltrating Megamind's lair, she immediately thought to use one of the brain bots to light the fuse on a pack of dynamite and then toss it off to Bernard to throw at the pack of dog-like flying robots.

She doesn't have much of a temper; it takes quite a bit to get Roxanne truly angry or upset. She's a big tough girl who can handle a lot before it genuinely hurts her. She tries to stay as level headed as she possibly can because someone always needs to be the voice of reason in times of crisis.

Roxanne is fundementally an incredibly nice and kind person. She will usually try to give people the benefit of the doubt whenever she can because she believes there is a little bit of good in everyone. Even in Megamind, though she'll be steaming mad at him for decieving her when she enters the game. To some, her belief in good and how it will always rise up to fight evil may seem a little naieve but she doesn't really care. Towards the end of the movie, Titan, her former co-worker Hal Stewart tells her that she sees the good in everyone, even when it isn't there. Despite this, she isn't likely to change her belief. She may become a little more cautious about it but it's very unlikely she'll ever become untrusting of people entirely.

Sexual Preferences/Orientation: Roxanne is primarily heterosexual, though she did have an incredibly brief bicurious phase in college. She likes to keep her private life out of the spotlight but Roxanne is fairly open about sex when she's in a serious relationship. She knows what she likes and isn't afraid of it. She's entirely comfortable with herself and wouldn't be put off by an inexperienced partner. In fact, she'd probably enjoy showing them the ropes. Roxanne tends to be a bit dominant when she really gets into it but she isn't opposed to being in a more submissive position if that was what her partner was more comfortable with. Roxanne is pretty open minded when it comes to sex, she's willing to experiment and try new things when the opportunity presents itself. She'd enjoy a casual relationship or two but she'd probably be more interested in a serious relationship. Its a part of her life that she's been neglecting for a long time but she's reaching a point in her life where she'd like to settle down and possibly start a family. Then again, that might not be the best idea when she's always getting herself kidnapped.
Powers: Just a regular human!
Reason for playing: I think it'd be fun to get Roxanne into all the big, dangerous things that happen around Bete Noire. My other character, Bennett, isn't really the type to get involved with any of those things and Roxanne would be the opposite. She'd be friendly and would make friends with a lot of characters quickly. In the movie, she's never really shown having any particularly dark urges so I think it'd be fun to see where the pull of the city takes her. I also think she'd be good to maybe do a weekly report on the network to summarize some of the happenings around the game for everyone and reporting on a lot of the big things as they happen.

[Roxanne sits in a small dark room, her face just barely lit up enough to recognize her. Her voice is a little on edge but she's trying to keep calm.]

It appears as if I've been kidnapped. No worries, though. I've been kidnapped before. Of course, all previous kidnappings were carried out by a slightly incompetent super villain but they were kidnappings nonetheless. I currently know next to nothing about my kidnappers. Only there seems to be three of them and I'm assuming they are armed and dangerous. Which is why I should probably cut this message off before anyone realizes they forgot to take this thing away. I was just hoping someone out there would be able to trace my signal and send a little help.

This is Roxanne Ritchi signing off, mildly frightened.
